Melissa Fietz is the owner and sole shareholder at this time. Melissa grew up on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. She is a Professional Engineer and Forester. She is a mother of 3 boys, who keep her quite busy. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors.

PRODUCTS

The armrests have 6 of degrees of freedom, which allow the user to adjust the armrests anywhere spatially, that is tailor specifically to them:

  • up and down;
  • swinging in and out towards the user,
  • sliding along itself for armrest elongation,
  • forward and backwards along the base,
  • laterally outwards and inwards towards the user, and
  • adjusting the armrest tilt from 0 to 5 degrees.

The backrest and footrest work independently of each other and can be stopped anywhere along their trajectory, again providing a tailored fit to the user. The cushioning and added lumbar and headrest support round out the comfortability and ergonomic supports. The control panels on each armrest have the ability to control both armrests, allowing a user to adjust either armrest with just one hand.

Any weight bearing motion – up/down, the backrest and the footrest – is electronically controlled with quiet motors. The rest of the motions are controlled with a simple squeeze handle that moves the armrest effortlessly and locks into place wherever they are stopped.

Nurture Chair can be used by a wide variety of users, such as:

  • breastfeeding mothers, bottle feeding parents and caregivers,
  • feeding rooms in public areas, such as malls and attractions,
  • hobbyists (those who read, knit, crochet, cross-stitch, etc.),
  • persons who spend a great deal of time on tablets, gaming or watching TV,
  • persons with diverse abilities (disabilities),
  • injured persons, such as those who have suffered upper back and neck injuries from car accidents or those who suffered sports injuries,
  • those with ailments, especially sensory based ailments such as arthritis, or one-sided paralysis from a stroke,
  • the elderly,
  • urbanites and persons downsizing who are looking for multi-functional furniture, and
  • medical professionals in their waiting rooms/practice (i.e. lactation consultant, physiotherapists, etc.).

The ability for persons to choose a variety of positions in the chair aids those who suffer from pain, especially when sitting for extended periods of time.
